FAQ's

What is a standard training day like? Of course each day can be different depending on the course we are teaching and the amount of students in a course. Most of our course structures will require you to study from home and complete all course work. Then, on practical days we spend the morning going through any questions, theory and showing practical and then for the remaining of the training we try and get you to work on as many models as possible so it feels like you are in a salon/clinic working environment. Most training days are 10.00am-4.00pm where you will also be given a lunch break.

 

How many people are usually in a class? We like to keep our class sizes small to ensure we give everyone our full attention. In most classes there tends to be no more than 6 people. 

What is the process after I have purchased a course? Once you have purchased a course, we will be in contact with you to introduce your tutor, arrange times and dates best to book you into training at your nearest location. All course information for BABTAC courses will be given to you on the day of training. CIBTAC and VTCT courses will require you to do home study and course work before coming onto your practical day training. Once your course work has been completed and marked by your tutor, we will give you all of the up coming practical dates at your nearest location to complete any relevant exams and practical days.

Do I have to complete any exams? Again the examination process all depends on the course you are doing, please check the specific course and on there, it will give you the information regarding the assessment process. In general, BABTAC courses you will be required to answer questions at the end of the course, you will also need to go home and complete case studies. Most CIBTAC and VTCT courses will require you to complete course work, a written exam and a final end assessment practical exam in front of an examiner. 

What If i do not feel confident enough after practical? It is our duty as trainers to regularly assess the you and work with you on ensuring practical is being done correctly and competent. After training, if we feel like this is not being met then you can come back to further practical days until you are ready.

 

Can I fail the course? If a student does not present the portfolio and have the adequate information, the student can be referred. This is not failing but will possibly passed at a later date when they are assessed again. If the student does not feel fully confident to do the practical assessment. In practical assessments, if treatments are deemed as incompetent, you will be required to come back for more training. 

Do I supply models? We supply models but if you have anyone that wants to have a free treatment they are more than welcome. You will just need to book your model in with the instructor.

Will i be confident to go out and work after this? We aim for all our students to be fully confident and competent to a high standard after the course. If you do not feel confident after the course, you are always more than welcome to attend more practical training free of charge.

Do I need to wear a uniform? Yes, if you already have a uniform please wear it and if you do not have a uniform you will be supplied a uniform for training. You will need your hair tied back, light or no make up, no nail varnish and plain black shoes.

Do I need previous experience or qualifications to do these courses? You do not need previous experience or qualifications to do these courses but some courses may have entry requirements depend on the Level of qualification. You can check each course requirements or contact us so we can assist you on choose the correct course. 

Will I have follow up support after the training? After the course we can give you access to our student support groups and our media platforms. You are more than welcome to attend further events and training that we put on (with a student discount).

 

What machinery, tools and equipment do I work on? The great thing about our training is we are not an independent suppliers teaching you in only one brand. This means we can give you advise on our own experiences (and students can give their opinion) on what is best for the specific treatment you are offering. This also means that we use a wide range of different suppliers tools, products and equipment. 

How long does a course take? Each course varies depending on what you are learning. how you learn best and the level of qualification. BABTAC courses tend to all be done within the days training. VTCT and BABTAC courses will require you to do home study and this will depend on the time you take to do the course work. Some people have very busy schedules, some people have plenty of time to do it. We run regular training every month in various locations to be able to book you onto practical dates as soon as possible.
